Position Description: Legal Assistant & Receptionist.

Location: This position is in our Austin, Texas office.

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation will be based on experience and potential for long term growth within our firm. We offer a matching 401k program, paid holidays, paid sick time and paid vacation.

Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Veteran Preferred. We love to hire Veterans and current Reserve Component Military Service Members, but this is not a requirement. We also place high value in hiring former law enforcement officers and first responders.

Position Responsibilities:

• This may sound like a low-level entry position. That’s not exactly how we see it. We are looking for someone who can help us improve and grow, while expanding their knowledge and capabilities. In other words, the ideal candidate will grow out of this position and take on additional responsibilities, including training their replacement once promoted. More importantly, we recognize that the successful candidate will be the team member who in most cases will have the first contact with a potential new client. You will be creating the first and lasting impression of our firm – a function that is critically important to our overall success.
• Meeting and welcoming clients and visitors coming into the office. Making a great first impression.
• Answering, screening, and forwarding phone calls in a professional manner.
• Taking messages, ensuring delivery and follow up by close of business the next day.
• Managing ingoing and outgoing office mail and deliveries.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments for team members.
• Observing business etiquette and maintaining a professional appearance.
• Ordering and maintaining office supplies.
• Managing conference room schedule and meeting logistics.
• Managing the maintenance and repair of office equipment.
• Assisting with travel arrangements, reservations, and expense tracking.
• Other duties as assigned. This is important. As a team member on occasion, you will be required to drop everything to help the firm solve a crisis for a client, support Attorneys in trial or some other critical situation.

Required Skills & Capabilities:

• Ability to operate in a fast paced, often stressful environment. All the positions within our organization are challenging. If you’re looking for a laid back, “chill” job, this is not the employment opportunity that you’re looking for.
• Prior law office experience is helpful, but not required. We will teach you how we operate and our performance standards.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills.
• Possess and maintain excellent time management, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Significant experience working with computer word processing, spread sheets, phone & call forwarding systems and managing calendars.
