COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH COMMITTEE
The Communications & Outreach Committee is responsible for strengthening awareness, visibility, and engagement of the National Guard Association of Texas (NGAT) through strategic communications, marketing, and outreach initiatives. The committee works to ensure that members, prospective members, Texas National Guard personnel, and corporate partners understand the value of NGAT membership and the organization’s year-round commitment to advocating for and supporting the Texas Military Department.
The committee focuses on developing and coordinating year-round communication strategies that highlight NGAT’s programs, accomplishments, advocacy efforts, scholarships, membership opportunities, events, and member stories. Through social media, email campaigns, digital advertising, videos, website content, and other communication channels, the committee seeks to reach new audiences, strengthen member engagement, and encourage greater participation throughout the organization.
Working in collaboration with NGAT leadership, board members, committee chairs, and the membership, the Communications & Outreach Committee strives to tell the NGAT story, demonstrate the impact of membership, and promote the association’s mission and initiatives 365 days a year.

Key areas of responsibility

Strategic Marketing: Develop and support a coordinated, year-round marketing and outreach plan.

Membership Awareness: Promote the benefits and value of NGAT membership, with an emphasis on reaching younger service members, enlisted personnel, and prospective members.

Digital Communications: Expand NGAT’s presence through Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.

Storytelling & Engagement: Highlight member experiences, unit activities, leadership involvement, and the real-world impact of NGAT advocacy.

Program & Event Promotion: Coordinate promotional efforts for the NGAT Conference, scholarships, membership drives, legislative initiatives, foundation activities, and other signature events.

Internal Communications: Encourage board members, directors, and committee chairs to share information, photos, videos, and accomplishments that can be used to promote NGAT.

Outreach & Visibility: Increase awareness of NGAT among the Texas Army and Air National Guard, corporate partners, and the broader military community.

NGAT is proud to offer you a benefit of a $10,000 life insurance policy. This policy is offered to new enlistees of the Texas National Guard. Enrollment needs to be completed within 90 days of your enlistment to take advantage of this offer.
Free $1,000 Life Insurance
All currently serving members of the Texas Army and Air National Guard are automatically covered with a FREE $1,000 NGAT Life Insurance policy.
Fed Protect
Low cost Group Level Term Life Insurance for current and former members of the Texas National Guard and Texas State Guard between the ages of 18-75 are eligible to apply with coverage continuing through age 121.
