FINANCE COMMITTEE
The objective of the Finance Committee is to provide NGAT with guidance including oversight of general financial operations, development and review of the budget, coordination of the annual audit, capital expenditures and investment management and provides oversight of the Investment Advisory Committee; bring recommendations to the Board, on a timely basis, the aforementioned fiscal matters for Board approval.
- Composed of Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer. Treasurer serves as Chair of the Committee. Those with expressed interest in serving on the committee may be appointed by the Chairman in consultation with the committee chair.
- Staff committee members are the CFO and President/CEO, and those appointed by the President/CEO.
- Meetings are held on a regular basis as determined by staff and the committee chair.
Responsibilities:
- Review all financial matters relative to the Institute, keep Directors informed and make recommendations accordingly.
- Approve the budget assumptions for use by staff in developing the annual budget; review and present the budget to the Board for approval.
- Review the planned strategic direction of the Institute during preparation of the annual budget.
- Review and make recommendations concerning the Institute’s capital expenditures.
- Select and receive reports from the auditors and present full audit to the Board for approval.
- Review the Institute’s investments , makes recommendations concerning investment policy and approve the Investment Policy Statement.

Low cost Group Level Term Life Insurance for current and former members of the Texas National Guard and Texas State Guard between the ages of 18-75 are eligible to apply with coverage continuing through age 121.
