SSLI – Group Term Insurance for Current Members of the National Guard
This is a low-cost group term life insurance policy which provides coverage on the member, their spouse, and their dependent children.
This term policy continues after leaving the Guard, until 65 years of age.

SSLI – Group Term Insurance for Current Members of the National Guard
- Purchase as little as $10,000 for $3.66 a month or as much as $50,000 for $17.00 per month.
- Prompt payment of claims within 24 hours.
- Payable by an allotment from member’s guard check, from retired pay, direct bill or ACH.
- May insure the entire family.
- Coverage is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. No war clauses or aviation exclusions.
- In the event of death, monies can be assigned to pay for funeral expenses.
- May be retained after leaving the Guard.
- Premiums are level term until age 65.
- Automatic conversion to a whole life policy without proving insurability.
- Must be an active member of the National Guard to purchase this insurance.
- Members of the Texas State Guard are NOT eligible for this policy.
- Underwritten by AFBA/5STAR.
Free $10,000 Life Insurance for New Enlistees
- Policy must be completed within 30 Days of your enlistment into the Texas National Guard.
- No war or aviation exclusions.
- Prompt payment of claims within 24 hours.
- After the first year, you may cover your spouse and dependents.
- Should you separate from the Guard, you may keep this insurance for the same price!
- Your coverage begins the day you sign up.
- After 12 months in the National Guard, your allotment for $3.66 will begin to continue your coverage.
- One year free NGAT Membership with Policy.

Free $1,000 Life Insurance for all currently serving members of the Texas Army National Guard and Texas Air National Guard
NGAT provides a FREE $1,000 life insurance policy for everyone who is currently serving in the Texas Army National Guard or Texas Air National Guard. Guard members are insured until they are no longer actively serving in the Guard, without having to complete an application. Payment is made to the beneficiary of the SGLI policy.
The provisions of this policy are the same as the NGAT Group Term Life Insurance Policy:
- Payment within 24 hours without a death certificate (A death certificate will be required afterward to close out the claim)

Free $10,000 Life Insurance
NGAT is proud to offer you a benefit of a $10,000 life insurance policy. This policy is offered to new enlistees of the Texas National Guard. Enrollment needs to be completed within 90 days of your enlistment to take advantage of this offer.
Free $1,000 Life Insurance
All currently serving members of the Texas Army and Air National Guard are automatically covered with a FREE $1,000 NGAT Life Insurance policy.
Fed Protect
Low cost Group Level Term Life Insurance for current and former members of the Texas National Guard and Texas State Guard between the ages of 18-75 are eligible to apply with coverage continuing through age 121.
